DO you know that frequent headaches may be a sign of allergy? Migraine is a particular type of headache which is usually centered over one or other temple, although it can be generalized. Do you get zig-zag lines, white patches or bright lights in the field of vision, neck pain and dizziness, prior to, or during your headaches? Do you suffer from depression, irritability, restlessness, or anorexia, nausea, vomiting and photophobia (sensitivity to light) prior to, or during your headaches? Then you may suffer from Migraine headaches!
Do you know that repeated, episodic headaches are quite likely to be due to foods? However, headaches are a symptom of a number of serious diseases which need to be differentiated by a doctor. When headaches are due to allergy, they can be caused by a number of foods, or food additives, as well as airborne allergens. Caffeine addiction - people with a high caffeine intake, can suffer headaches as a toxic reaction to the caffeine.
Our sympathetic doctors look forward to helping you. They may do medical tests to exclude other diseases that can cause your symptoms or test you for reactions to certain allergens (allergy tests). You may request allergy tests. Priority is given to what might be triggering your symptoms.
